Welcome to the Portuguese Historical & Cultural Society (PHCS) website!

This site was created to promote the culture and preserve the historical significance and contribution of the Portuguese immigrant and Portuguese descended population of the Sacramento Valley and neighboring counties. However, the scope and reach of the organization is not limited by any tangible boundaries.

We invite you to explore the site through the various links to access information and resources regarding PHCS and the greater Portuguese community and culture.

Our purpose
Founded in 1979, PHCS is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of Portuguese cultural and historical heritage, which provides a congenial environment for individuals of Portuguese ancestry to maintain a link with their ethnic past.
